Lqdam Shoe Built for Our Culture and Movement

Lqdam is made for us, for those whose voices, ideas, humor, and talent deserve to be seen and heard. For those whose culture lives in the way they move, play, create, express themselves, and carry their stories forward.

Lqdam exists to empower and include, to give space to all of us, and to celebrate our roots, our culture, and the cultures we connect with.

We don’t spend money on ads. We don’t pay influencers. We don’t use hype tricks, fake urgency, or limited “drops.” We keep prices fair and honest so you are not paying for our marketing, only for the shoes themselves.

If people talk about Lqdam, it is because they believe in it, not because they were paid to.

Our story begins over a century ago inside the Shanghai DAFU Rubber Company (上海大孚橡胶有限公司).

With extra rubber available, the factory’s craftsmen created a lightweight canvas shoe with a flexible rubber sole. They named it «飞跃» which means “Leap Forward,” inspired by China’s modern social and economic reform.

The shoe quickly became part of everyday life in China, worn by Shaolin masters, athletes, workers, and ordinary people for training, work, and everyday wear.

History, however, took a different turn. After a long legal dispute, a foreign company obtained the overseas rights to the name, leaving the original factory unable to sell its own creation outside China. For years, two versions existed: one born from craftsmanship, the other from paperwork.

We chose the original. Lqdam is made in the original DAFU Rubber Company factory — where the story began, and where it continues today.

Lqdam is built the traditional way. A natural cotton canvas upper is pressed by hand onto a rubber sole, then heat-cured to bond both materials into one flexible, durable piece.

No unnecessary padding. No artificial bulk. No over-engineered extras. Just cotton and rubber, made to last.
